The Corolla returns to the U.K. from a 2008 hiatus , well, actuall y the name returns to the U.K. as previous models were called Auris here.
We will now get the Corolla saloon which I guess replaces the Avensis saloon. So I a lso guess the Corolla estate replaces both the Auris estate and Avensis estate.
Old Auris estate
Old Avensis estate
We’ll also be getting the Toyota Camry again, something we haven’t had since 2004, actually, this maybe the one replacing the Avensis. Really not sure, but it looks okay.
Also nice to remember we get the Toyota Land Cruiser Commercial, a utility version of the Land Cruiser.

Two door regular Land Cruiser or two door Land Cruiser Commercial?
They stopped doing the two door regular Land Cruiser a while back in 2014-5 .
The Commercial works better.
There is a Prado which will soon be eligible for U.S. import if that’s of any interest.

Just a shame the engine choices in the Corolla are a bit meh, Toyota still keep advertising their shitty old tech hybrids as "Self charging" like that is somehow better than ones you can plug in and actually charge and get 30 or so miles of range (I still think plugin hybrids need to really have at least 50 miles of electric only range but that's another conversation). They do look much better than the Auris though, especially inside.

I think they are hedging their bets with engines to see where Europe is going to go regarding electric, hybrid, etc... vehicles.

The Corolla wagon looks really good to me.

Auris name not used here.
always have been Corolla, Hybrid Camry is meh & taxi fodder here (along with som e weird choices now that no local car production)
3-door landcruiser we don’t get or the 5-door commercial variant. all ours have back seats.

The Camry replaces the Avensis. They'll sell about six.

Buyers are apparently put off by the charging bit which is why they're pushing the "self charging" so much.

The hatchback and estate look great from the front, the saloon, not so much.
But ye’, the estate looks good from other angles too.

I agree, the front end is better on wagon and estate variants. The saloon isn’t necissarily bad to me but the others are definitely better in my opinion.

Not sure why they dropped the Corolla name in the U.K. or the Camry altogether.
We stopped the 3 door Cruiser but it’s still available in Commercial form.
The Commercials make sense for tax reasons.
Just like the Ford Fiesta and Vauxhall C orsa vans.

I think if Toyota had stayed offering the Camry it would of done okay-ish, but now, so many other cars have taken it’s place in the market than it’s going to find it ha rd to slide back in again.

Just seems a wasted effort having two different front ends. But then again Ford has done it with the Focus, in fact four faces for the same bodystyle (for both hatchbacks and estates) , so there is that.

Yeah that seems a bit redundant to put so many different faces out for them
